Serving the highest office in the universe… 1 Peter 4:16

I ask myself why would the writer say “But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian”?

Then my mind flooded with many ideas.

But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name! (1 Peter 4:16)

A Christian is an honorable designation for any human being. In fact, it’s more distinguished than serving the highest office of any nation. A Christian serves the head of the universe – the Commander and Chief of Heaven. It can’t get much better than that.

Common philosophies and thinking would have you believe that Christians are inferior and powerless. Common thinking wants you to feel powerless even when you possess the strength and knowledge to be more. It’s like slavery, once someone has your mind; your body is easy to control. No-longer-common is the message that frees your mind, releases your body, and gives you back the privilege that comes with serving the highest office in the universe.
