What Can You Do When the Rules Change? Part 4

Let God Put You in a Win-Win Situation

A good example of having the rules change is when others tell you that you’re not cut out for things. Or the church reminds you of how bad, filthy and inadequate you are. These are all signs of the rules changing but not in your favor.

The rules changing simply mean you thought one thing was going to work out, but as soon as there was hope of victory the rug was pulled out from under you. Maybe you received a bad report. Maybe there was just one more door to close in your face. Maybe the lights were turned off sooner than you anticipated. Maybe you overlooked just one pending transaction with your finances and now you’re in an overdrawn situation.

Regardless of what everyone else would have you believe is the cause. Regardless of the fact that life is cause and result oriented. The fact is, there aren’t any stories in your Bible that don’t paint God as not being for you. In every single story, He is for you and not against you. You see all the characters in the Bible were flawed, except one-Jesus. That means, with the exception of Jesus, all had skeletons in their closet. They had some stories they didn’t want anyone else to know. They too had the bad reports, closed doors , messed up finances and challenging relationships.

“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” (Romans‬ ‭8:31‬ ‭NLT)
A-Win-Win-Situation

Now for the good part. Once you start to see this pattern, the pattern that ordinary people can become something more; you’ll begin to believe that God is for you. He is not against you. God realizes you already have too much against you. So He wants you to be in a win-win situation…even when it may appear as if you’re losing, rest assured you’re winning.

I learned a new definition of favor recently. One that says having favor means that you are God’s favorite. No matter what the circumstance may say and no matter who changes the rules, remember this, you are God’s favorite. You are uncommon. You are the story of triumph others are getting ready to read. No matter what your life circumstances may be, ask yourself the question, if God is for you, who or what can ever be against you?
