Release Your Passion

Having an Uncommon Home, Education, and Personal Life – Part 4

Release Your Passion

Have you ever met a person who had no dreams?  I don’t think I have.  Everyone has a dream or dreams.  So why is it that the majority never accomplish theirs?  This is a sign that “common” won out.  It’s “common” that keeps a person from accomplishing their dreams.  It says to them that you’ll never be able to do it.  No one in your family could accomplish anything great.  You’re not smart enough to pull that off.  You come from the wrong side of the tracks.  The list of why you can’t do something is great.  These sayings are numerous because normal people have mastered saying them.  These aren’t phrases that extraordinary people use.

The extraordinary say things like why not?  Why can’t you do it?  What’s stopping you?  The extraordinary challenge the norms.

Average people never pursue their passion
There is an old saying that I’ve heard “in the cemetery there’s a wealth of ideas, inventions and businesses”.  Why is this phrase important?  Because average people take their passion(s) to the grave without ever attempting to accomplish them.  If you want to live an uncommon life, allow your passion to live before you leave this world.

Your Passion

The average person is often derailed.  They become overwhelmed by what we call “noise”.

Let me try to illustrate what we mean by “noise”.  Have you ever heard of “light pollution“.  In short, light pollution is the light around you that drowns out what’s in the darkness.  In the city, it’s difficult to see the stars because of “light pollution“.  But go to the country, where there are fewer lights, less light pollution, and you will see more and more stars.  Is it because stars only exist in the country and not in the city?  No.  In the same way, the noise of a “common” busy life will also drown out your ability to be “uncommon”.  The noise pollution in your life is designed to drown the uncommon you.

Uncommon is the one who manages to release what’s down in one’s soul
What’s down in your soul, planted on the inside, is the core of who you are.  It’s where you find you.  I would love to help you release the real you that God intended you to be.  For me, this is the one gift I’m trying to sharpen, finding the unique gift in those I encounter.  It’s not the you that the devil has contaminated.  It’s not the you that’s been hidden by the “noise”.

My daughter and I put together Legos as a pastime.  When we first open the box, we have hundreds of pieces and have no idea how those pieces will fit together to make what’s displayed on the picture.  In the same way, God has a picture of you that’s waiting to be put together.  He takes all your life experiences and uses them as pieces.  Focusing on all the pieces at one time produces “noise” and leads to discouragement.  He wants to take one piece of you at a time and put it together to create an image that’s been buried deep.  He wants you to get comfortable with taking a piece of yourself and adding it to the other completed parts of your life’s puzzle.

If you’re brave enough and willing to step out of fear, unseal a piece of your image and share it with someone else today.
