This next and final example might surprise you, but it is one in which Jesus prayed and the answer to His prayer didn’t come back in the way that He wanted it to.

The fortunate default or automatic benefit that prayer offers is that a little bit goes a long way. It only takes a little to produce big results.

People who seem to pray the same thing over and over again generally fall prey to believing that God is not answering their prayers. When this occurs do we persevere, or do we give up?

Using the examples of Saul and Elijah, we learn that it can seem as if God had let us down when we do these two things: 1) We cause God to not respond to us and 2) we stop too soon when God’s “yes” is on its way to us.

In this lesson, I would like to offer one example from the Bible where someone offered a prayer and they felt like we feel today that I prayed and God let me down.
