An Invisible Force Found Everywhere

How hard is it to get in the presence of God?  Where can I find this force, His Spirit?

Sometimes it’s hard to find what’s available when you have no idea that it’s there.  It’s like having access to an amusement park, but no one told you where they left the tickets.  Each year, Pamela and I have an annual retreat. It’s one of the staple items in our Family Plan.  On one of our retreats, I received this awesome revelation that the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit is everywhere, just like in a Star Wars movie, the Force is all around us.

It’s not a “common” thought that the earth is the place God made.  We think of it as just a place where we live or think of it in a limited fashion.  This changed for me during our annual marriage retreat.

While I sat alone watching Pamela, my wife, participate in the morning yoga session; in the peaceful surroundings of a quiet morning at the Secrets Capri Riviera Resort in Cancun—the retreat location for that year, I had just one thought which was how beautiful this place was.  I marveled at the fact that man could create such a place. To top it off it is surrounded by the ocean which God made, making the man-made resort look like nothing amazing at all. Then it hit me.

During this yoga session, I took this time to have my own personal worship and private time with Jesus, after all it was Sunday.  During this moment of reflection, God inspired this thought. “If you think what I’ve done with earth is beautiful, wait until you see Heaven.  It doesn’t compare.” A part of being ready for what exists all around you is being able to see it. Can you see how beautiful the world is around you?  Can you see the beauty in every person you meet? Can you see the beauty in the diverse cultures around you? Can you see what the Spirit of God was hovering over?  Can you see what God made? Or do you choose to see what ordinary people see? Just one more negative thing to complain about?

The Force Hovers Over Creation
If God made the earth and His Spirit hovers over the surface, how then do I get His Spirit, this force, to hover over me? The point and the takeaway for you is this; His Spirit is available to you and for you.  You just have to be able to see it. He’s with you everywhere you go. You need only invite Him into your life.

My goal today is to only expose you to what exists and what’s available.  Just like the earth was created, so were you. Just as it was made with splendor and beauty, so were you.  And just as the Spirit hovers over the surface of the water, God’s Spirit is available to hover over you. The next step is on you.  Holy is not what you think!
