Guided Down The Uncommon Path

There is Help – Part 3

You should know that the common method of living life is going through life with no guidance.  Why is it we feel like we can do this thing (life) without any instructions? Everything else we do in life requires some type of training, education, or apprenticeship. Wouldn’t life be better if we had a clue as to what we’re supposed to do?  I would feel a heck of a lot better if I had someone with me to answer any question I might have along the way.

Common: We often feel as if we are just on our own, drifting aimlessly through life, with no help or guidance from God.  Ordinary individuals don’t realize that just because you are not aware of God’s guidance doesn’t mean He is not guiding.  

The Disciples’ Setback
“There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now.  When the Spirit of truth [the spirit that teaches us what is uncommon-the truth] comes, he will guide you…” – bible.com/116/jhn.16.12-13.nlt

The people who did life with Jesus day-in and day-out (His disciples) had one setback that we don’t have today.  They didn’t have God’s spirit to guide them. I bet you didn’t see that coming. They were being guided by Jesus as long as He was right there with them.  Today, we have the greatest opportunity of any Christian, the opportunity to have His spirit here with us at all times to guide us. He is “there to help” every step of the way.

Are you interested in finding some way to get help in navigating your way?  Are you tired of not knowing what to do next? I sure am. Everyone is doing life the same, just going through the motions and being satisfied with it, because it’s normal.  It’s amazing that we haven’t figured out yet that normal is not working. Well, I am fighting to eliminate normal from my life and my path. And if this message is reaching you, you should do the same because His Spirit is there to guide you every step of the way.  I invite you to plug into the one source that can get you off the normal path and place you on the no-longer-common path.

No-Longer-Common: Having the understanding that God is able to do things unnoticed, makes Him exceptional and makes you unlike any other in the process.

What would your friends and family think about you when God guides you through a tough situation? What would your child say when you knew what they were experiencing because The Spirit guided you? What would your team members think when you came to work the next day with the solution to the problem you all had been battling because His Spirit inspired you?  What would those around you think when you rallied with an organization that makes life better for others because He impressed it upon you? I know what they’d think. They’d think you were different, awesome, extraordinary. And that’s exactly what it means when you allow God’s spirit to help.  

Question: If you had the opportunity to ask God one question about your life’s direction, what would it be?  Pray that today and allow His spirit to lead you to the answer.

iPray: Eliminate “Normal” From My Life

Our Father, who is a genius, as I desperately fight to eliminate “normal” from my life, allow Your Spirit to lead me down a better path each day in Jesus’ name.
