What’s at stake?

As I sit here, it becomes difficult for me to get these thoughts out of my head. The more I think about it the harder the writing becomes. It’s not until I begin to think about what’s at stake, do I talk myself into continuing with writing.

Fortunately, God knew I would need a little dose of encourage.  So, He sent a friend my way.  As I was on the way to a mastermind meeting, I bumped into a friend I’d not seen in a few weeks.  She said something to me that made the best sound to my ears and impact for my life.  Her words were “I don’t just see your emails, but I read each one and they are right on time.”  The fact that one of our friends reads each message means a lot and it was that one sentence that I needed to continue. I wanted to quit.

So I decided to call this post, What’s at stake?

was_nlcThe person on the other side of plain old you.
Becoming something different than you were yesterday, starts by redirecting the way you’ve been trained to think today. It’s learning the things that are on the other side of ordinary thinking. If all you know is what’s commonly accepted, how can you be any different than anyone else? What a stale existence you’re in for!

What’s at stake is a simple question.  It means what’s at stake if I should quit now.  What’s at stake is the one message that could mean the difference between you and the person you could become.

It’s the person that sits on the other side of plain old, ordinary you. The no-longer-common you.

“Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved [become someone who is no longer normal], along with everyone in your household.” (Acts 16:31 NLT)

So, what’s at stake?

What’s at stake?  You being an example to others on how to give up normal to be much more.

What’s at stake? Your home having better results than what’s seen in normal homes, when normal just won’t do.

What’s at stake?  You no longer living a lifestyle built by poverty when riches is just around the corner hiding on the other side of common.

What’s at stake?  You no longer attending a place called “church” which shields you from being “The Church”.

What’s at stake? Your sons and daughters no longer growing up in a world without family and family values.

What’s at stake? You no longer being overworked and underpaid, when you were created to have a life filled with abundance, rest and margin.

What’s at stake? A government that’s no longer dictating to the people, rather a government that is the people.

Have you not noticed that common is not working? No one is satisfied any more with being ordinary and this blog post is intended to help you see what normal people don’t.

Now it’s your turn.
It’s your turn to take action.  Send us a comment.  Encourage someone else to subscribe to no-longer-common, like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter or Google +.

What’s at stake if you don’t?  You risk leaving your friends, family, coworkers and significant other behind to live a normal life.  No one around you should continue to be normal because you’re not!
