Three Steps to Getting His Provisions to Flow in Your Life
Common is the person who has a lower value of themselves than they deserve.
The scripture says…“Look at the birds in the sky. They don’t sow seed or harvest grain or gather crops into barns. Yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth much more than they are?” (Matthew 6:26 CEB)
We like the sound of God providing for us better than how He does the birds.
While that might sound great, we commonly have a hard time believing that God has laid out provisions for our life. If this it true, where is it? It’s not here and I’ve had needs like you that went unmet and no place to turn. So where is this provision?
There are two ideas that we need to consider:
1. Does God have provisions for us? God provides for the birds and He provides more for us whom He loves. The question isn’t whether God has provided for us, it is why doesn’t it seem like He has. Which leads me to the next point.
2. Have you ever considered the responsibility that the birds have? They must get up early, get out there, search and seek for the provisions. They rarely find it in the same place and they are constantly looking. They’re working for it.
How about you? I bet you want your provision to magically show up at your doorstep. I bet you want an undeserved promotion. I bet you want things to happen in your life that you didn’t work for. While God does and can do all of these things, that’s not how you maintain your daily flow of provisions.
Now the how. How do I get the provisions of God flowing in my life?
Take a lesson from the birds.
- Don’t sit still in the same spot you were in yesterday.
- Get started early.
- Search with confidence until you find it.
Common is the desire for things to happen in our life that we didn’t work for.
No-longer-common is not sitting in the same spot you were in yesterday, nor is it failing to get started early, nor giving up the search without finding what God has provided for you.
