When You Find Your Prayer Brings Unexpected Consequences

Have you ever prayed for something and the situation got worse? How about the times you’ve prayed, and people begin to attack you? What gives?

Prayer Condition:
Here it is you’re trying to do the right thing. You know you’re going in the right direction, yet the situation takes a turn for the worst.

“The king… had sent along army officers and horsemen to protect me. But when… the Ammonite official heard of my arrival, they were very displeased that someone had come to help the people of Israel.” – bible.com/116/neh.2.9-10.nlt

Never in a million years would you have thought that there would be people out there trying to keep you from doing what’s right, useful and helpful. Wrong, this is exactly what happens when someone finds you turning away from your normal habits to do something that exceeds ordinary, extraordinary. When this happens don’t back down, but rather pray more and keep moving.

The Prayer:
[Pray This]
My Father, I’ve run into a problem as I attempt to follow what I think is Your guidance. I don’t understand why this opposition has come against me, but I know I’m going in the right direction. Just as You made provision for Nehemiah’s protection, I thank you for making provisions for my protection. With Your hands upon me, I will continue to move forward; turning around now is not an option in Jesus’ name.

Your Action:
(What action based on your prayer can you take?)
I take the appearance of my opposers as a sign from God that I’m heading in the right direction, doing the right things, assigned the right mission, and doing what no one else will do. I will stay my course. My action step is to update my plans and course of action to make adjustments for those who come against me and be prepared for the opposition.
