Where Do I Begin With Taking Prayer to the Next Level?

When one feels like they need to go to new levels of prayer or maybe feel inadequate in the practice, the first place to begin in making such a change is in one’s mind. First, we need to admit a couple things; 1) I don’t know it all and 2) I am willing to continue growing on the subject. The activity known as “prayer” is no different than any skill, like leadership; it can be developed.

There’s only one surefire way I know to grow and that’s by subjecting oneself to someone who is sharper, better, wiser, and smarter. It’s like iron sharpening iron, the sharpening piece has to be stronger than the dull piece. If you desire to become better in any subject, specifically prayer start with this simple prayer.

Lord, help me to find the stronger piece of iron that it takes to sharpen a piece of iron like me. If you would, send me the friend and information that it takes to make me better, in Jesus’ name.

I will subject myself and make myself an apprentice to one who knows more than I do on the subject.
