When Communication Breaks Down

One of the first signs that problems are near is when communication breaks down. This behavior is pretty normal, which means it happens more times than not and it’s accepted. The truth is in order to prevent a problem is to do the opposite. Don’t allow the lines of communication to break down.

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

I like this verse because it implies that you can not receive the forgiveness you desire until you do some forgiving yourself. In the same way, you can’t expect talk to come your way until you open up your mouth in their way. When I say their way, I don’t necessarily mean in their direction, but rather in a way that can keep the lines of communication flowing, if you want to avoid further problems.

[Pray This]

Father, help me keep the lines of communication open when I want to shut them down. I understand that if I have this natural behavior, then I can only expect natural results. Therefore, help me change this behavior in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Your Action (What action based on your prayer can you take?):
When I feel the urge or attitude to stop communicating I take a step back and find a way to keep the lines of communication from completely closing. I text, send email, write a note or letter if that’s what it takes to keep talking.
