Returning to Reality After My Answered Prayer

I often wonder why a person would continue to pray if it doesn’t work. What would one pray if they expect nothing to come of it. Or they believe that God rarely answers or responds. Something doesn’t add up.

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

Could it be that people who don’t pray don’t know what to look for or what to expect? Could it be possible (and I believe it is) that God speaks to them and they said no way or that couldn’t be God? The scripture teaches us that God’s thought, plans, and ideas are nothing close to our limited, natural, normal thoughts. Could it be that when we heard Him, what He gave us in return didn’t make sense so we shrugged it away?

[Pray This]
Lord, I believed I may have missed what You were trying to tell me because I thought it made no sense. Of course it doesn’t make natural sense, You’re not natural. Today, I listen closely to what You are saying even when it makes no “earthly” sense, in Jesus’ name.

Your Action (What action based on your prayer can you take?):

This is my takeaway. I put myself in position to hear what God says regardless of what I think of it. My thinking can’t compare to His.
