Life is a Choice

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you,
that I have set before you life and death,
blessing and cursing;
therefore choose life,
that both you and your descendants may live” ^[1] 

Life or death, it is my choice.
Blessing or curse, it is my choice.

If I am experiencing death in my relationships, in my finances, in my life; it is because I decided to choose death in these areas. If I am not blessed and things are not going in my favor, it is my fault not God’s. I made the choice to go my own way and thusly have selected the curse as opposed to the blessing. This is the case for every human-being whether you realize it or not. You have made the choice. 

The good news is, I don’t have to stick with the choice I have made. I can choose life over death. I can turn my life around by making a different choice that only a few makes, that is to choose to be blessed and not cursed. The default choice is “death.” The default choice is “cursed.” Going my way and doing it on my own produces a cursed life; while doing it His way and with Him leading me produces a blessed life.

The only thing standing in the way of me having the life that I want is me. God sets choices out there for me. It is up to me to choose the opportunities which will give me the best outcome – choose life and not death in all circumstances.

Pray This: Father, help me to see every circumstance as a choice in which I intentionally choose life over death, blessing over curse, Your way over my way. If you would, help me to see the opportunities set before me that are the most beneficial. I choose to have life, not death in all situations, in Jesus’ name.
