How to Become No-Longer-Common
3 Spiritual Shifts That Separate Uncommon People from the Crowd
Most people spend their lives trapped in common thinking. They believe what everyone else believes, grow within the limits of the people around them, and live according to cultural standards instead of God’s standards. That’s common. But becoming no-longer-common requires something different. It requires (1) believing, (2) growing, and (3) acting in ways most people are unwilling to pursue.

1. Believe Like No One Else
Holy One: Believe Something Most Don’t Believe
“If you declare that Jesus is Lord, and believe that God brought him back to life, you will be saved.” [1]
The first step toward becoming no-longer-common is believing something most people are uncomfortable believing. Not just admitting you are a Christian or someone who attends church, but truly declaring that Jesus is Lord — your boss, the One calling the shots in your life.
The truth is, most people are willing to identify with Christianity because it fits cultural expectations. But far fewer are willing to surrender their decisions, thinking, and direction to Him. Culture wants belief to stay safe, quiet, and socially acceptable. We’ve been conditioned to stay within the limits of what the crowd accepts.
Then comes the second part: believing that God brought Jesus back to life. Just saying that out loud makes some people uncomfortable, even people who claim Christianity. But becoming no-longer-common requires believing beyond the boundaries of common thinking. It requires trusting God beyond what feels normal.
And the result of changing what you believe is freedom. Salvation liberates you from the patterns that keep everyone else bound.
2. Surround Yourself Like No One Else
Holy Spirit: Become Someone No One Else Can Become
“The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures.
They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.” [2]
Once you begin believing differently, something else begins to happen — you start becoming different. Peter and John were ordinary men with no special training, yet people recognized there was something uncommon about them because they had been with Jesus.
That is the work of the Holy Spirit. God’s Spirit helps you become someone no one else can become.
The people around you shape your thinking. The environments around you shape your expectations. The resources around you shape your growth. If you continue surrounding yourself with common influences, you will continue producing common results.
But uncommon people intentionally place themselves around people, truth, wisdom, and environments that challenge them to grow beyond average. They understand that who and what they stay connected to will eventually shape who they become.
3. Act Like No One Else
Holy Bible: Grow and Learn in Ways Most People Won’t
“As you read what I have written, you will understand my insight into this plan regarding Christ.” [3]
“Study to show yourself approved to God…” [4]
Uncommon people grow differently. They study differently, learn differently, and discipline themselves differently because they understand uncommon outcomes cannot come from common habits.
Most people want extraordinary results while maintaining ordinary routines. But growth requires intentional action. The Bible was never meant to simply inspire us emotionally — it was meant to transform how we think, live, and grow.
As you study, apply truth, and continue growing, your life begins separating itself from what is ordinary. Uncommon living is not accidental. It is intentional.
Common vs. No-Longer-Common
Common: Believes only what feels socially acceptable.
No-Longer-Common: Believes beyond the limits of culture.
Common: Surrounds themselves with average influences.
No-Longer-Common: Intentionally chooses environments that elevate growth.
Common: Wants uncommon results while keeping common habits.
No-Longer-Common: Studies, grows, and acts differently.
No-Longer-Common Thought
You cannot become uncommon while living exactly like everyone else.
Becoming no-longer-common begins with a decision: believe differently, grow differently, and live differently. Because uncommon lives are never created by accident.
