Discounted Ability: Who Should be in Control?

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God [who is not like us, normal] can be trusted to keep his promise.” – Apostle Paul (Hebrews 10:23 NLT)

Do you like being in control? A lot of us do. This is human nature. This is why we get frustrated when we do not get what we want right away or when we do not get it at all.

More often than not, people pray for something that they want but will always have that sense of doubt because of things that they might not have gotten before. In fact, this is one reason why some people give up on their faith. Some question God’s presence because they feel that their prayers are not being answered.

Week10-300x215aHowever, just because you prayed does not mean that it will be granted right away, no matter how strongly you believe it. There is always a perfect time for everything, and as humans, this is something that no one will ever be able to control. This is why some of the things people do end up in failure. In the need to control and in the middle of that strong sense of anticipation and impatience, people try to handle things on their own, forgetting that sometimes, there is also a need to be still and let God work His magic.

This is why there should be an emphasis placed on the fact that we have to “hold tightly” to God’s promises. He takes us through a series of adventures and experiences that will lead us right where He wants us to be. What we see with our natural eyes may not be what we anticipated, but know that God is always faithful and will always keep His word.

iPray Everyday

Thank you for staying true to Your promises Lord, even when I falter in faith. I stumble, I question, I try to have my own way. But in the end, it is still Your will that should be done, and I put my faith in You and hold on tightly to Your promise. In Jesus’ name.
