Choosing to Be No-Longer-Common

Everyone was Created to be Extraordinary

Uncommon by Design – Part 3

There have been so many questions about No-Longer-Common that I finally realized it was time to answer them.

Why did we go through all this effort to build a website like NoLongerCommon.com?

Why all the focus on defining the difference between what’s normal and what we’re calling no-longer-common in today’s world?

There are a couple of reasons we felt a platform like this is necessary right now.

One of the biggest is this:

People have placed leaders in a class of their own… and then there’s everyone else.

The Myth of “They’re Just Different”

Take Michael Jordan, for example.

He’s widely recognized as a basketball legend—a leader in his field. And rightfully so. He accomplished incredible things during his career. But when you really think about it, he was a human being just like every other basketball player striving to do his best.

He didn’t have superpowers.

He didn’t have something mystical that no one else had access to.

What he had was commitment.

He lived, ate, and breathed basketball. He practiced when others rested. He focused when others drifted. He pushed himself to levels most people were unwilling to reach.

And over time, that mindset placed him in a class of his own.

The difference wasn’t biology.

The difference was behavior.

The difference was mindset.

Extraordinary Is Not Reserved for the Few

Now imagine if someone else trained as relentlessly as he did. Imagine if they pushed themselves just as hard, stayed just as disciplined, and refused to settle for average. The results would likely look very different from the norm.

Michael wasn’t different in his humanity.

He was different in his choices.

That’s the distinction.

And that’s the point of No-Longer-Common.

We’re not trying to elevate a small group of people as “special.” We’re challenging the belief that extraordinary living is reserved for a select few.

Everyone was created to be extraordinary.

The issue is not ability—it’s awareness and action.

Why Most People Don’t Live Extraordinary Lives

So why don’t more people live this way?

A few possibilities:

  1. They don’t know they can.
  2. They don’t know what to do.
  3. They don’t focus on the things that need to be done to move beyond average.

Most people follow patterns they’ve seen repeated. They pursue what’s familiar. They settle into what’s expected. They stay comfortable.

Common is easy.

Uncommon requires intention.

Why No-Longer-Common Exists

No-Longer-Common was created to give people a different lens.

It exists to challenge what’s considered normal.

It exists to expose what’s possible.

It exists to help people see—and do—the things that aren’t ordinarily seen and done.

We believe people can be extraordinary in their own ways. But it starts with exploring options most people overlook and adopting a mindset most people never develop.

This isn’t just words.

It’s about discipline.

It’s about perspective.

It’s about decision.

And it’s about choosing, daily, to be no longer common.
