Beyond Ordinary Faith

Why No-Longer-Common Has to Exist

Uncommon by Design – Part 4

Ordinary people are sometimes taken advantage of. Sadly, that can happen even inside churches.

That truth is one of the reasons No-Longer-Common exists.

Over the years, we’ve noticed a pattern. Many believers are given just enough teaching to stay engaged, but not always enough to grow independently. Information is often spoon-fed in small portions. While the intention may be good, the outcome can be limiting—people remain spiritually under-equipped.

Too many faithful churchgoers attend for years and still feel unsure of the basics.

A Moment That Stayed With Me
I once spoke with several long-time church members who admitted they were uncomfortable praying out loud. Not because they lacked faith. Not because they didn’t love God. But because they didn’t feel equipped.

That stayed with me.

Imagine sitting in church for decades and still feeling uncertain about how to pray confidently for yourself or others. That isn’t a lack of devotion.

It’s a lack of development.

And spiritual development matters.

What Scripture Actually Encourages
Scripture never calls believers to remain spiritually dependent.

“Solid food is for those who are mature,

who through training

have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.” [1]

Growth is expected. Maturity is expected.

And again:

“You are a chosen people… royal priests…
As a result, you can show others the goodness of God…” [2]

God’s Word calls you to stand out—not stay small.
To grow—not plateau.
Ordinary faith was never the goal.

Why No-Longer-Common Exists

No-Longer-Common exists to help believers move beyond spiritual dependency and into maturity.

Not to criticize the church.

Not to compete with it.

But to equip people to live out what they already believe.

You were never meant to sit in church for years and still feel unsure of your faith. You were created for more—more understanding, more confidence, more authority, more depth.

Because ordinary faith was never God’s design.

You are uncommon by design
