giving your needs away

When a person is faced with a need, the natural response is to focus on receiving and holding on to what you already have, instead of giving.

“One person is generous and yet grows more wealthy, but another withholds more than he should and comes to poverty.” ~ Proverbs

While it might seem that holding on and focusing on getting more may seem like the best method, it’s opposite to what is characteristic of God. God isn’t selfish and doesn’t promote this selfish act. Instead He gives and desires that we give as well even when faced with a need.
