How Do I Process The Passing of An Influential Loved One?
This is a most undesirable question to ask. What do you do with the legacy of a loved-one who’s passed? I know this is the kind of stuff you’d rather not think about, but it’s happened and if it hasn’t for you, it will. This prayer exercise is to help you get something from this undesirable experience.
“Then Isaac breathed his last and joined his ancestors. He died an old man who had lived a full life. His sons Esau and Jacob buried him. “

Isaac died and behind was left his sons. They had to face losing a father. I like the way this scripture reads…”he joined his ancestors.” It doesn’t paint this experience in a negative light but a positive one. Isaac has gone on to join his ancestors, but what about his sons. I’m sure they took comfort in knowing this. However, when it’s time for you to have this experience, you should focus on the legacy of the one who’s joined their ancestors.
[Pray This]
Father, I could choose to view the loss as nothing more than a loss, but I’d rather do what the uncommon do, view the legacy they left. How can I use their life to benefit mine? How can I allow them to have a lasting impact on me? During this time I take notice of the gift they were to the world and I make note of how the gift of this person made a difference to me.
Thank you for their legacy, in Jesus’ name.
Your Action:
(What action based on your prayer can you take?)
What if you took the time to take note of how this person helped to improve your life? What if you took a moment to see how God used them as a puzzle piece in your destiny.
