Allowing My Feelings of My Child’s Other Parent to Get the Best of Me

It is not unusual for parents who share time with their child(ren) to have bad or unfavorable feelings towards their child’s other parent. While this is normal, normal doesn’t make it right and in fact, normal in this case only produces a bad experience for all. But what would happen if we change these feelings? While it might not be a path traveled by many, it’s possible for one to put such feelings aside.

Love is a funny emotion. There’s a scenario that will change your opinion and your feelings towards anyone. That scenario is when someone loves what you love. It’s hard to not love someone who loves who you love, especially love for a child. To alter feelings that you have towards your child’s other parent or their love towards you, then love what they love, your child.

[Pray This]

Lord, teach me how to love our child in such a way that it causes me to love my child’s other parent in Jesus’ name.

Your Action (What action based on your prayer can you take?):
Take a minute to assess the love you have for your child and evaluate whether you love your child enough to love what he/she loves.
