The Unavoidable Change of Becoming Brand New
Sometimes we’re forced into becoming a new person. We can’t see the end of what we’re dealing with because of what’s in front of us. Most of us do see that the circumstances and situations that we face in life alter us. Let a hurricane destroy your home and have to relocate to a new city or state and see what you become. Let someone important like a parent die on you, one you totally depended on and see what happens to the old you. Let a marriage end or have to take on the responsibility of a child unexpectedly. What do you think happens to a person who endures such a life event? They change whether they want to or not. This might be you or it could be someone you know.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

In a letter to one of the first Christian churches, these words appear. They explain what must happen to become new. It’s the process of undergoing a life impacting change. The old things are no more and now you have something new to deal with. Don’t miss the key. You’ll need to stop holding on to the old so that you can embrace the new.
[Pray This]
Father, help me let go of the old life, the old ways, the old people, the old relationship, the old memories and thoughts that are holding me back from becoming the new person I must become. This wasn’t my plan, but if I want to be successful, if I want a successful me, then I must behold the things that are able to make me new, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
Your Action (What action based on your prayer can you take?):
This is what we can do. Evaluate each relationship level for the impacts that becoming this new person brings. Label (even if only mentally) all the old stuff and replace it with some new stuff.
