Competing For Position
A blended-family often yields parents and step-parents who compete against each other. That’s a normal outcome, but what those who are fortunate enough to be in this situation don’t usually see is the blessing of more. What do I mean by this? Your child is blessed with two homes, two sets of families, and in many cases two sets of parents.
When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.-bible.com/bible/116/LUK.12.48.NLT
The truth is, you and especially your child(ren) has been given more and with more comes more responsibility. It’s easy to view it from a place of competition, but the truth is, it’s added responsibility for having more.
[Pray This]
Lord, I never thought of my blended-family as a blessing which gives me and my family more. Help us to manage the more that comes with this unique, yet common family dynamic, in Jesus’ name.
Your Action (What action based on your prayer can you take?):
Take a step back, take your eyes off the obvious, and see the blessing in the life you’ve been given.
