The Possibility of an Unfair Advantage
Why Do You Have an Unfair Advantage? Part 2
We recently discussed the problem associated with thinking you’re not from God. As Christians, could it be that we have a fear of not living up to what it means to be from God? Maybe you’re having problems turning water into wine this week. Wouldn’t that qualify as something we’d be able to do if we were like Him? Or is that too extreme? You all know that at times I can be extreme.
His Presence in You Makes You Uncommon
Then there’s the question of what’s too extreme for God? Is there such a thing? And if I’m like Him what would be too extreme for me? This sounds like the possibility of an unfair advantage to me.
Being no-longer-common is having God’s spirit and presence active in your life and heart. Without it you’re like everyone else – common.
There is one thing I know for sure. The key word is “active” or “activated” in your life. Just because we don’t see it active in someone else, doesn’t mean He can’t be active in you and me. The question I want you to ponder is this. Is what I’m experiencing just like what everyone else, in my circumstance, is experiencing? If “yes”, and for most it is, there’s only one thing you can do. Do what everyone else is not.
The Two Things to Know that will Help You Out
There are two things you should know.
1. God is not far away from you. He lives in you.
2. He has planted His spirit-the Holy Spirit-in you to make you something other than ordinary.
Just go with me. What if you believed that every word of the Bible is true? Hopefully you caught on and are now realizing that I’m implying you might not treat every word of the Bible as true for you. If you did, here are a few results you’d see and expect.
- Your home would be in order.
- Your marriage and relationships would be whole.
- Your children would be like arrows in your hands awaiting you to give them purpose and a target.
- Your career would be more than just an 8-5, but a tool to be “salt and light” to the world.
- Your society and community would await the words you speak because your words have the power to resolve every issue.
Need I go on? You have an unfair advantage!
Take advantage of the unfair advantage and all that you can image will be possible for you. It’s what makes us no-longer-common.
