“Part 3 – What if my prayer is for something that’s not a problem?”
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and [do the work of] pray…” – bible.com/bible/111/2CH.7.14.NIV
Prayer takes effort; it takes work. It takes intention. This is not the time for us to pretend to pray. It’s time to really pray. It’s time to put in the work. The scripture says “if my people…will…pray.” Not if they think prayerful thoughts or hope someone else will do the job or hope their church pastor is praying. It says if His people. Are you His people? Are you His person? If you’re in this category, then it’s time for you to pray.
[Let’s pray this final prayer]
Lord God,
I declare that I’m in the category called Your people. Therefore I put in the work of prayer. I make prayer my exercise and I know when I pray, I hear from Heaven. I know You have us in the palm of Your hand. I know this storm is in Your control and You’re using it as You see fit. I also know that it’s not always the storm that should be the focus of my prayer but the direct impact it’s having on my life. I ask You like the disciples did “don’t You care” about what’s happening to us? I’m asking You to help us navigate this storm in Jesus’ name.
