Colossians 3:5 I’ve been mistaken about “idolatry.”

Allowing someone or something else other than you to control you is idolatry to God – you have placed something, higher than God.

“Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.” (Colossians 3:5 NIV)
