Not Unpredictable Like They’d Have You Believe

In Plain Sight, But Not Seen – Part 3

Did you know that The Spirit isn’t unpredictable like popular thinking would have you believe?

So what do I mean by this?  Popular thinking has us believing that The Spirit will alter how we look, dress, speak, behave and how we see things around us, but in a negative mystifying way.  That’s can’t be further from the truth.

“The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit [the force that makes them exceptional in some special way].” – bible.com/116/jhn.3.8.nlt

How is The Spirit unpredictable then?
You see, The Spirit will alter you, but in a positive mystifying way.  Look at it like this, if you could walk on water, change water to wine, and heal those sick around you using the water in your mouth, wouldn’t that be mystifying?  I’m certain you wouldn’t run from this person, but run to and desire the gift they have. Why do these things sound extreme? They should and so are the gifts people have, that have been given to them.  You don’t see giftedness in regular people. You see giftedness in the uncommon. Those are the ones who can do some really cool things that ordinary people don’t get to do. They are the mystifying gifts, like extraordinary skiers, olympic medalists, inventors, writers, speakers and the list goes on of people who have been given this unpredictable power that can only come from The Spirit.  Let me ask you this…do you think the Bible App was created by just a normal human-being or one gifted? The creator might not be gifted to create any other popular app, but gifted in created the one he/she created. The point is the inspired gifting is unique to every person.

Why doesn’t everyone have a gift?
I honestly believe that every person alive has a special gift, skill, talent that no one else can duplicate.  The only difference is some people will never have their gifts activated. They will never connect with The Spirit of God that can set their gifts in motion.  While I’m here, I’m not saying you have to go to church to connect with The Spirit, but it does make connecting a whole lot easier. God’s spirit isn’t confined to just churches, synagogues, and places of worship.  It’s not just found in priests, musicians and deacons. In fact, there’s no limits to where you might find God’s spirit. Only when you accept this unpredictable power of the Spirit of God that lives in you, will your gift, talent, skill be awakened.

What gift do I have awaiting to be awakened?
This is the million dollar question.  While it is something you must find for yourself.  I can only offer you a few pointers on how to connect with your gift.  Start by identifying what you enjoy doing. Your gift can be found in what comes easy (natural) for you and it’s not for others.  Poll those around you, they can see your talents because it’s hard for them to understand how you got it. No one can explain why and even how you have the gift you were given.  There’s a passion, a love, a desire in you that no one else has and only you can choose to awaken it. In fact, there are people who will go through this entire life and never awaken their gift.  Why? Because that’s “normal”. “Normal” will take us out of being extraordinary. Don’t let this be you.

The Spirit is unpredictable in that He will empower the gift that you have and take it to a level that mystifies the world around you.  Are you the next great football coach? Hall of Famer? Writer? App creator? Restaurant owner? Scientist? Whatever you are (gift you have), it, has the potential to set your world on fire.
