Just Because You Go to Church

When ordinary is no longer enough for you
Have you finally concluded that ordinary isn’t enough?  Normal isn’t working out the way you thought it should.  Do you desire more out of life and it’s not happening?

Did you know that the number one reason people turn to church and faith is because normal isn’t working out. Most people, including me, have at one time or another found themselves in a “normal” circumstance or situation and turned to the church…turned to God.

What I learned as a young church-goer was that “normal” is in the church.  The folks around me preached a great message but didn’t know how to live it.  They gave me all the rules (and I’m grateful), but left off some important key pieces.  When you encounter God, which needs to happen for each of us, we can no longer remain normal because God Himself isn’t normal.

Popular culture and behaviors begin to fade away as we spend more time with Him.  If this isn’t happening, even while in church, you’ve not been in His presence.  Just look for yourself…review any person in the Bible who encounters God, they weren’t left the same and neither will you.  Encounter Him and see how even your thinking changes.

At some point in your life you must decide that ordinary is no longer enough for you.

Normal can’t live here
If I can be me and I will, [that means to the left I go] you can’t be a follower of Jesus and settle for being ordinary.  In fact you can’t accept Him in your life and remain normal.  His influence in your life makes your life better and greater.  You learn to double your talents and investments.  He helps you remove your weaknesses and He helps you improve your strengths.  What remains is nothing inferior, nothing normal.  If your life still resembles the ordinary you, then you need to reassess your relationship with Him.  What’s the point or purpose of calling yourself a Christian if you can’t at least get pass normal.  You should be making miracles happen for others. You should, even on your worst day, find a way to come out victorious.  Why because that’s what Jesus would do.   That’s what you should do.  That’s what it means to be uncommon.  Everything that I’ve read and studied says there is no way in Heaven or Earth you can be connected to Him and remain normal.

Don’t let others convince you it’s okay to be normal
Don’t let others fool you either-those persons telling you they have this great relationship with Him and have strong faith yet resemble the world around us.  It’s not possible.  I know you’re saying, but they go to church.  Yeah, they go to church.  Going to church doesn’t mean you interact with Jesus.  It just means you go to church.  It doesn’t mean you have God-like results happening in your life.  It means you go to church.  It doesn’t mean you get beyond average.  It means you go to church. However, going to church should put you in a place where you can experience these uncommon results.  If you don’t believe me just read your Bible, every page contradicts what’s “common”-normal behavior.

It’s time you realize that ordinary is no longer enough for you.  You can be more and I believe you will be more.
