iPray: Make me the help someone else needs.

When I hear something like “it isn’t good for man to be alone”, I can’t help but think why does society make it okay to be a loner?  Why is our society so bent on making people so independent that they don’t need or look for others to help them?

And the Lord God said, “It isn’t good for man to be alone; I will make a companion for him, a helper suited to his needs.” (Genesis 2:18 LB)

Obviously, it’s not to our advantage to be alone; left to ourselves, we tend to make a mess of things. To avoid such, here’s my prayer. You should try it.

iPray: Lord, make me that companion that understands the needs of my partner. At the same time, allow me to be the help that makes us both something greater than ordinary. I no longer desire being alone because left to myself, can be disastrous. I seek the help of others to make me no-longer-common.
