1 Corinthians 12:22, 27 My Life Matters When I am a Part of a Team

There are unnecessary players in the Body of Christ…
Common thinking would have us to believe that there are unnecessary parts in the Body of Christ.  As a result, people think their part does not matter, so they never give their best efforts, nor provide their point of view.

No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary… Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.  (1 Corinthians 12:22, 27)

We tend to place a low priority and low rate of return in such activities as prayer, giving, and witnessing.

Ministers with large congregations have the vital roles…
Common people believe that it’s the famous ministers and people who speak to thousands  who have the vital roles in the Body of Christ.

You are a member of an important team…
You are a member of an important team.  That team is the Body of Christ.  Every person whether we view as great or small are all a part of Christ’s body and are very vital.  We are all on the same team and we all have the same agenda as well as the same enemy.

We all get discouraged and think what we do, doesn’t matter…
We must resist the urge to think that we don’t measure up or recognize that our part is not just as important, but crucial.  The devil has a way to convince us of our inferiorities.

There’s no need to try to be like someone else…
Many of us see the efforts and glamour of others and want to model those person’s success, but it’s important for us to be faithful to who and what God has called each of us individually.

Most of us think it’s the job of preachers to do the work of Christ…
While preachers get the upfront attention, like the mouth piece for the body, please keep in mind that the internal organs of the body –parts that are unseen and work behind the scene– are more important to the overall functioning of the body.

The bottom line is you are needed…
You are needed or you would not have been created by God.  You might not receive the most valuable player award, but the person who does can not without you doing your part.  The team needs you; what are you waiting for?
